Despite the cold and snowy weather, nearly half of the 92 beginning teachers who registered for the January 8, 2015 seminar on the PDP (professional development plan) braved the miserable conditions to attend.

Teresa Voss and Jen Murphy, both of Verona Area School District, facilitated the session, first of two on the PDP process for Wisconsin educator licensing. They emphasized ways to think about and connect the PDP with Educator Effectiveness evaluation requirements now in place.
A panel of three teachers in various stages of their first PDP process talked candidly about their experience, and took questions from the audience. Questions and answers both varied from “It’s important, takes work and organization, but doable and even beneficial,” to “It’s a cumbersome burden.”
