Apply for a Scholarship to the NTC Symposium in San Francisco

The DCNTP is offering two scholarships to the NTC National Symposium on Teacher Induction, February 22-24, in San Francisco. If you are a teacher leader, mentor, principal or district administrator, download the application and information sheet and apply by Friday, December 5. People who’ve attended say they return with a deeper understanding of, and commitment to, an effective induction program for their district.

Here’s what one of last year’s scholarship winners had to say:

Thank you note
“…I just had to write to thank you so much for the amazing opportunity to attend the NTC Symposium in San Francisco. It was everything I hoped it would be and I learned a lot–especially about other mentor programs. There seems to be as many different ways of supporting new teachers as there are districts.

“For example, I found out through networking that the district of Charlotte, NC, has 3,492 mentors! And, in Wichita, KS, mentors are also evaluators–how does THAT work?!

“It was nice to realize that much of what I do seems to be exactly on track, but I also learned of ways I can improve my work. It was the perfect  combination of confidence-building tempered with program improvement ideas.

“It was truly an honor to have been selected for the scholarship. My learning will help me to be a stronger district mentor as well as DCNTP meeting participant. I will remember this experience forever (and the climate change didn’t hurt!).

“Thank you so very much!!”
