In Instructional Coaching 1: Using Formative Assessment, new instructional coaches will focus on gaining the knowledge, skills, and practices that advance teaching practice. Participants learn how to work with and meet the needs of a range of teachers, how to use multiple data points to inform practice, and how to ensure that the coaching experience is an empowering and transformational practice that contributes to continuous improvement.
- Employ the roles, language, and stances of effective instructional coaching.
- Build collaborative, trusting relationships with and among teachers.
- Use the Collaborative Assessment Log to assess and advance teaching practice.
- Use professional standards to anchor assessments and coaching practice.

This two-day training runs from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm, at the Monona Grove District Office, 5301 Monona Drive. It includes breakfast (7:30 to 8:000) and lunch on site.

Workshop is $295 per person for DCNTP members; $270 per person for more than one attending from a district. A print field guide and access to the online Collaborative Assessment Log (CAL) is included; there is an additional cost of $20 for the print CAL tool.
