Research confirms that school leaders play an essential role in student achievement and teacher effectiveness. We also know that teacher support and development are critical to school improvement efforts.
In New Teacher Center’s School Leaders, Mentors, and Coaches: A Partnership for School Success, principals and other school leaders examine the key components of NTC’s instructional coaching model. Through an exploration of NTC’s three high-leverage coaching protocols and tools, participants learn how mentoring and coaching impact instruction in terms of standards-based content, teaching practices, student actions, and classroom interactions that create and sustain Optimal Learning Environments.

Site-based administrators who want to understand and leverage the work of their mentors and coaches to meet school improvement and student achievement goals.
- Articulate how induction/coaching program serves school and district instructional goals, improvement
- plans, and priorities.
- Understand tools, structures, and expectations that support high-quality, research-based instructional
- Gain strategies to support teacher and mentor/coach collaboration and acceleration of practice.
- Identify site-specific action steps and leadership supports for immediate and ongoing induction/ coaching program implementation, monitoring, and improvement.
This workshop runs from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm at the DCNTP office inside Heritage Elementary School, 501 South Street, Waunakee, WI 53597.
